Flights to Ethiopia: For Village Ways holidays in Wollo and Tigray, the airport used is Bole International, Addis Ababa. Main carriers are Ethiopian Airlines and BMI.

Passports and Visas

Documentation required for India: Wherever you're coming from, check to find out your exact visa requirements for India with the Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of residence
For all UK citizens a full British passport, valid for at least 6 months beyond the final date of your planned stay in India, is required. Allow a minimum of one month, preferably two or more, for passport renewal.
A visa is also required for entry to India from the UK; it is obtainable from the Indian High Commission in London or visit http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/
Documentation required for Ethiopia: Unless you are a citizen of Djibouti or Kenya you will require a visa for Ethiopia, as well as a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the final date of your planned stay. Check with your local Ethiopian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate for how best to get the required visa.
For all UK citizens, you can download a visa form and post to the Ethiopian Embassy, or deliver the form in person. For details visit http://www.ethioembassy.org.uk/consular/Visa.htm#Payment_&_Fees
Easiest, perhaps, for UK and other nationals (check to see if your country is included here), you can buy your visa on entry at Bole International Airport; for this payment is in US dollars.

Insurance

Everyone booking a holiday with Village Ways must take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy at the time of booking; check that the policy you choose includes full cover for belongings, for liability, and for accident and medical care including emergency cover (air ambulance etc). It should also include cancellation cover.

We ask that you provide us with details of your policy including emergency contact numbers.

Health & Immunisation

Ask your medical practitioner for up-to-date information on health requirements for India and Ethiopia, and allow time to obtain the appropriate immunisation.
It is advisable to carry any proprietary medication you may require with you as you travel, and to take sensible precautions regarding climate, altitude, hygiene and general safety.
