Yes - the itineraries on our website are examples of what we offer. You may book them exactly as they are shown, or you can tailor them as much as you like to suit you - add extra nights in the communities, add on a city visit or combine two itineraries for a wonderful discovery. You can start and finish on any date of your choosing. Our experienced reservations team will be happy to talk you through all your options.
In many of our holidays you will walk from village to village and and will require a reasonable level of fitness. However, the walking is fliexible and your guide will choose paths to suit you- you can choose to take in all the high points and ridges, or choose more gentle routes between villages. They are walks and not treks- so you will have time to enjoy the landscapes and interact with the communities.
You stay in small guesthouses which are owned and managed by the community - you don’t stay in the homes of individuals. The wider community shares the benefits of hosting you rather than profit going to just one family. You will have a private room in the guesthouse.
Yes- you will be well looked after, with your own private guide. Please bear in mind that our holidays are aimed at individual parties- so you will not be joining a larger group. Please contact our knowledgable sales team who will be happy to talk through any questions you might have about travelling alone. The following is feedback we have received from a solo traveller:
"Everything worked out to perfection and exceeded my expectations greatly. I was a single traveller, avoiding "groups" this time and wow, I could be a lone traveller AND feel taken care of by Village Ways. I can honestly say there was not one moment where I felt abandoned or let down or disappointed and on the other hand, I never felt crowded with concerns/protection. Perfection indeed....
This was my third time in India and no way had I experienced it the very personal way that I did with you. I shall be a Village Ways walking advertisement for you and thank you ALL once again from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful experience in the Intoxicating South of India." - Ursula W
