The off season? Not in Binsar

farming in BinsarThe monsoon season is often considered the off-season in India, with the rains working their way up the country between June and September. In the villages of Binsar however, it is one of the busiest periods, as rice farming is in full swing. With rains generally localised to the afternoons and evenings, the air is fresh and pleasant and there is plenty of time for farming and village activities to take place, as well as the odd game of cricket.

The teams in charge of running the Village Ways guesthouses use the time to carry out maintenance work on the guesthouses and preparations for the coming Autumn season are underway in all our partner villages. This year, we have also extended our capacity in a few of the Binsar guesthouses and they can now accommodate groups of eight people.

Elderly members of the Dalar village committee are supervising the work. It is wonderful to see that everyone is so involved and are very particular that the guests visiting their villages have a wonderful and comfortable time.
