Village Ways starts a Training Centre at Binsar , Uttarakhand

We are very pleased that our village community members, who have been involved in Tourism activities for over 12 years, are now training communities from other villages, who also want to get involved in tourism activities to develop new income streams.

The first formal training conducted for IDIPT, Uttarakhand Government, took place in March 2018, part of an ongoing programme. The objective of this training programme was to provide local community members practical learnings on Operations & Management, so that they can run their homestays/village tourism enterprises smoothly and ‘Quality Visitor Experience’ is ensured for the tourists visiting the region. Also the training aimed to make the community participants aware about the ethos of responsible community-based tourism in rural villages.

The programme included an exposure visit to villages where such initiatives are already working and this gave the participants an opportunity to interact to get a first hand experience. This helped in developing a better and more practical understanding of some of the do's and don’ts of tourism.

The programme also focused on some of the commercial aspects including marketing and development of a tourism product, so that links to the market can be found.
