An internal flight from Delhi takes you to Nagpur, from where you are transferred by road to the charming village of Sakata, on the edge of the South Shivni Forest - the migratory corridor between Pench and Kanha Tiger Reserves. Stay in an old hunting lodge, get to know the community and enjoy local forest walks, with good wildlife opportunities.
From Sakata, head into to the core zone of the Pench Tiger Reserve to spend two night in the forest village of Karmajhiri. Explore the jungle by jeep to witness the abundant bird and animal life residing there, giving you the greatest chance of spotting tiger.
This itinerary can be done as a stand-alone short break or can added to a holiday in north India, via Delhi, or South India, via Mumbai. Your holiday includes transfers, internal flight and overnight rail journey, accommodation in the village resthouses, with all meals provided during your stay with the communities and your own guide.
Day 1 Morning flight from Delhi to Nagpur. Welcome Nagpur airport, road transfer to Sakata (4hrs). Relax and overnight stay in old hunting lodge.
Day 2 Full day and night Sakata, local forest walk and introduction to village life.
Day 3 After lunch, road transfer to Pench core zone (2hrs) for evening safari by gypsy jeep. Overnight in park accommodation, on edge of Pench core near Karmajhiri village.
Day 4 Early morning jeep safari, return to Karmajhiri for lunch and village exploration before a final night stay.
Day 5 Transfer from Pench to Nagpur train station to catch the overnight train to Delhi
Day 6 Arrive New Delhi station, freshen up Delhi guesthouse and afternoon city exploration before transfer to Delhi airport for homeward flight.
We ask our guests to make their own arrangements for international travel to India. The suggested itinerary assumes a starting point of Delhi. Transfers from Mumbai are equally possible.

The itinerary can be extended if you wish to spend more time exploring the village and tiger reserves, or shortened if your time in India is limited. Choose to upgrade to 1st class on the train or replace your overnight train journey with a return flight, add extra nights with the communities or in they cities.
